We moved to Solerche, an aldea of Iznájar, in 2004 and from then to 2012 spent a lot of time, money and love creating a space where we could bring up our children and run a small business..

It was originally an old olive mill and we have turned it into what we think of as an oasis.

While living in Spain we ran it as a guest house and venue for weddings, celebrations and family gatherings.

Joaquin, the original builder, last year took on the task of maintaining the gardens and the accommodations and has done a wonderful job, but as our kids have gotten older and we spend less time in Spain we have decided to sell our oasis..

There are so many things that could be done with the cortijo but I feel you need to be there to make them work..

With more attention it could be run as a very successful guesthouse or turned into the best venue for retreats and celebrations..

The main hall would make an amazing restaurant with plenty of space both inside and out for guests..

For me it is a truly wonderful space with a beautiful tree filled patio and a peacefullnes that is difficult to come by..

Yet it is only 5 minutes drive to both Iznájar and Rute and just an hour to Malaga, Córdoba and Granada..

Iznájar is a great village and I still think of it as more of a home than London where I was born.

I have made my best friends there and my children all still feel very proud to be of there..

.
